Career

Today we had another visitor that came into our school to talk about her career and what she does for living and her career is creating building plan in 2D and 3D on her laptop so builder can see what they have to do so they can gather all there martial and what they need so they can have them all ready before they start.

Career

Today 3 ladies came into our school to talk about what they do for there career and what we want to do for our career. What I enjoyed about listening to them was that there are a lot of career out in world that never new that they were real company´s and it was cool when the teacher told us about there career.

Time's

Today me and some group of people were learning how to read time.The easy part about reading time is that I knew what the hand meant on the clock because the long hand mean's it measure's the minutes and the short hand measure's the hour's and the hard part was trying to figure out the time our teacher give's us I struggle a bit but once my teacher explain it to me I knew what I had to do and I finally got it.

Writing

This week we were learning how to do some grateful poem. The easy part was knowing what was grateful to me and the hard part was finding thing's that was grateful to me because I struggle a bit but when I was think a bit I found out what was grateful to me.

Math's

This week me and my group was learning fraction,percentage and decimal. The easy part was timing the number into the fraction and the hard part was question's like 3/25 because I didn't understand it but once I did some practice with the teacher I finally understood and knew how to work it out.  

Reading

This week I have been learning how to making connection with a story and the thing I learnt was text to self,text to text,text to world and those are the three things I learnt of making a connection. The easy part was understanding what text to text mean and the other one's and the hard part was nothing cause I understood very well.

Review

For the last couple of days we have been do a review on our old work and I did my review on my 10 NZ icons 10 Kiwiana.

Problem solving

For the last couple of days I have been working on how to problem solve. The easy part about it was that I knew the answer to the problem and the hard part was trying to work it out because I struggled a bit and also my teacher was not interested in the answer she was interested of how I worked it out but once I read the problem twice I found away of how to work it out then I writ it in my book and showed her how I worked it out.

Te reo

Today I went down to the marae to record myself saying a mihi that I have been learning for 3 terms and this mihi is also a welcome mihi for new students and new teachers to our kura and if you would like to learn this mihi to welcome new students and teachers here is a 1 min video for you to learn this mihi.

Today at manual we were learning how to make mince pies. The easy part about making the mince pie is that the mince was really easy to cook and the hard part was trying to make the pastry for the pie because we messed up a couple of time then we finally got the pies finish on time.

Poetry

This week me and my buddy were working on how to make a poetry and it was a lot of fun. The easy part about it was creating the poetry and the hard part was trying to come up with some words.

Kiwiana

For the last two weeks I have been working on a project and it's called kiwiana. The easy part about it was find all the icon that relates to kiwiana and the hard part about it was find icons that are NZ but not kiwiana I was stuck for a moment then the teacher helped me with some then I knew what I had to do then I was straight into it and got it finish.  

Problem solving

For the last two weeks I having been learning how to problem solve. The easy part was find the answer,circling the clues and reading the problem twice and the hard part was trying to work it out because our teacher wasn't impress in us getting the answer she was wanting to see how we worked it out but I struggled on working it out then I finally found a way of working the problem out.

   

Persuasive writing

For the past two weeks I have been learning how to mark our own writing by using rubrics. The easy part was knowing what one I'm already good at the hard part was I didn't know which one I needed help on the most then I finally knew which one I needed help with and now I'm working toward it so I can achieve on it.

Scones

 On Wednesday me and my group were learning how to make scones. It was a lot of fun making it because we can always make some at home for the family and your self that's why It was a lot of fun and if you would like some just follow the recipe good luck. 

Inferring

Last week i was learning how to infer a picture and three things I learnt was finding clues,reading between the lines,personal knowledge and those are the three things I learnt about inferring a picture.The easy part about it was looking for clues because i'm good at find clues and the hard part was personal knowledge cause i didn't understand it until some told me then I knew what they were talking about and the thing i have to work on is doing infer a lot more so I can understand inferring a lot more better. 

My reflective blog comment of term 2

The thing that I achieved this term was completing my hinaki project because I put a lot of work into my mahi and it was so fun making it too and the easy part about it was making the hinaki and the hard part was trying to set my trap in the right place for the eel to go in.

What I need to work on is trying to finish my work in the amount of time of given and making my work a lot more interesting because i'm a year 8 and I should know better and here is a photo of us going eeling. 

Food for thought

Today we went down to the supermarket to check food label that are everyday food or sometime food. Most of my food label was healthy and unhealthy and here are is a photo of what we were doing.

This week I have been working on how to make a hinaki. the easy part was making the hinaki and the hard part was trying to find out how to make it work.

Reflective

Today I have be learning about healthy eating with whaea abi. I learnt that we are just like a car when we need fuel and I also learnt that when you have dinner either half the plate full with veggie or meat that´s why it is really important to eat healthy and not just lay on the junk food.

Title eels

Opening statement

Did you know that there are over 800  species of eels? Eels can migrate to the Pacific Ocean near Tonga.

Diet

Eels like to eat live food, tiny fish, Also bait and when they get bigger they start to eat crayfish, small birds like duckling also a baby size king fish.

When eels start to feel hungry they go out  and hunt for food for them and their family.

As they hunt for their food they search in two places the sea and the river. But before eels come out of there home they make sure that there ain't any dangerous creatures around their home before they can go out and hunt.

Eels will not be extinct in a couple of years because there are over 800 species of eels and they have a chance of living for a really long time.

Today I have been doing a report writing about eels. The easy part was sorting them out and the hard part was try to put my facts in the right place to make my report writing interesting.

Bedmas

    Today I have been learning how to use bedmas with my friends and it was really Interesting here are my answer. The easy part was working out what the question was and the hard part was trying to find out what the answer was.

Today I’ve have been learning how to co-operate with other people. When we were playing our 3 games I learnt how to co-operate with my teammates and help them to achieve at making it to the other side and next time I will try to work with my team instead of trying to work with my self.

REFlECTIVE

last week I have been learning a new Whakatauki for my mihi. I have been learning a new Whakatauki because so I don´t need to always use the same old Whakatauki for my mihi and I am  also going to learn a new Whakatauki every term.LINK!!!
